The manager, industry narrative is responsible for executing a full range of research and communications assignments to support GMA’s strategic priorities and tell the story of an industry that is in the homes and touches the lives of Americans every day. Reporting directly to the senior director, industry narrative, the manager will develop campaigns that tell the story of the industry in the most effective, impactful way.
Key areas of responsibility:
Industry Narrative Communications
Work with the communications team and leadership to determine a strategic approach for sharing the industry narrative.
Develop messaging around key issues and campaigns that tell the story of the industry.
Lead the GMA blog when it launches and develop a content calendar.
Assist with the development of original research — quantitative, qualitative and economic — and message testing.
Aggregate existing research and data that shape and support GMA’s narrative.
Contribute to the analysis of original research and the writing of GMA reports.
Conduct literature reviews to better understand issues and trends that affect the industry
Share in developing the reinvented GMA brand and corresponding rollout.
Manage projects on a host of issues affecting the CPG industry working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
2+ years in communications role desirable
Excellent written communications skills.
Superior project management skills including the ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage deadlines and budgets, and work with little supervision.
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel 2016 and full Office suite.
Knowledge of SPSS and cross-tabulation analysis is a plus.
Familiarity with Wordpress, Drupal or other content management systems is preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and to build and maintain strong relationships with members and other key stakeholders.
