GMA, the trade association of food, beverage and consumer product companies, is currently seeking candidates for Manager, Social Media Engagement to join our growing Strategic Communications department.
Our new Social Media Engagement Manager will use social platforms to promote GMA initiatives, events and public policy positions engaging and building our audience through content development, infographic design, online conversations and social listening. Much of this work is performed through cross-functional collaboration with GMA colleagues and members.
The Manager, Social Media Engagement is specifically accountable for these duties:
•Finding ways to drive a positive narrative, push back on wrong or misinterpreted information, leverage trends, and create hot topics that will engage with online communities and other platforms.
•Using enterprise social conversation monitoring tools and analytics to track impressions.
•Creating relevant and timely content to share such as blog posts, tweets, infographics and posts with video/photos.
•Identifying opportunities for GMA subject matter experts to promote the association and the industry and using creative tactics to grow our online audience.
•Building GMA's reputation as an industry leader through online content partnerships.
The best candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, New Media, Public Relations, Digital Marketing or a related field plus at least 3 years of related experience working in a role with significant social media accountabilities. Your experience should include regular use of a wide variety of social platforms and growth in your ability to use analytics to improve results. You must have a basic grasp of design software and a creative talent to present information in engaging and thought provoking ways. Finally, you must enjoy working in a collaborative environment and managing a very busy desk.
